Brooklyn Campervans

“Few companies in this industry combine small batch craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Our goal is to build the best campervans possible, and make exactly what the client wants.”

Arthur WeiCo-Founder

Brooklyn Campervans began as a dream of building community.

Co-founders Arthur Wei and Oliver Gallini originally planned to buy land and construct tiny homes with friends. “That didn’t work out,” Arthur says. “So, we decided to do a version of it in Brooklyn.”

Both came from filmmaking backgrounds, but when the pandemic shut down production, they pivoted. Arthur began building furniture for his apartment, and over time, he and Oliver transformed their long-standing dream of campervans into a real business. With no outside investment, they rented a shop in South Williamsburg and began experimenting with layouts and builds. Arthur had spent four months living out of the front seat of his car while traveling across the U.S. and Mexico. “I loved it, but a van would’ve been a serious upgrade.”

By 2023, the company had outgrown its original space and moved into a larger facility. Word spread quickly about their unique approach – one that blends design-forward thinking with serious technical skill.

“We’re small batch by design. We build four vans at a time, and we care about every single detail.”

Brooklyn Campervans sits in a rare space: not a high-volume factory, and not a couple of hobbyists working out of a garage. They offer full customization — from interior layouts and solar systems to off-road capabilities, with a level of care and hands-on design that mass manufacturers can’t replicate. Every project is different. Every build is intentional.

“We are constantly testing new technology” Arthur says. “Larger companies tend to move slowly. We can pivot quickly and bring the best tools and innovations directly to our clients.”

The Road Ahead

While campervans will always be the heart of the business, the company is expanding its mission. Through a new division called Next Gen Vans, the team now designs mobile offices and outreach vehicles for nonprofits, healthcare providers, and public agencies. These builds support essential services — from legal aid and addiction treatment to insurance enrollment. “These are programs that serve real needs,” Arthur says. “We’re building for people doing important work in their communities.”

As the company looks to the future – with electric platforms and larger-scale mobile solutions infrastructure on the horizon, its values remain unchanged: durability, comfort, intuitive design, and real-world performance. “This started as a labor of love,” Arthur says. “Now it’s a way to shape how people live and work — on the road, in the field, and everywhere in between.”
