Wink Motors

“Most people don't need a giant car. They need the right car.”

Mark DweckFounder & CEO

“I’ve been a car guy my whole life.”

For Mark Dweck, Wink Motors was born from a lifelong passion. Long before electric vehicles and neighborhood transportation became mainstream topics, Mark simply loved cars. While he spend years building various businesses and working with manufacturers, he never lost his enthusiasm for the automotive world.

As he watched vehicles get larger and more expensive, he kept wondering why so many people were driving massive vehicles for everyday transportation. Most people are commuting locally, running errands, heading to dinner, or visiting friends. Yet the market seemed focused on building bigger and bigger vehicles. There seemed to be a clear disconnect between the vehicles people were buying, and how they were actually using them.

For Mark, existing alternatives didn’t fully solve the problem. Golf carts lacked the comfort, safety, and features most people wanted. E-bikes and scooters left riders exposed to weather and traffic, with little room for passengers or cargo. He firmly believed there had to be another alternative, and before the pandemic, began searching for a practical solution: something that could make everyday transportation simpler, more affordable and more enjoyable.

“I was searching for something that could be revolutionary.”

Rather than chasing futuristic concepts or flashy promises, Mark focused on designing a vehicle around how people actually live. The result was Wink Motors.

The company’s compact electric vehicles are fully enclosed, seat four passengers, and include features such as heat, air conditioning, power windows, Bluetooth connectivity, backup cameras, and three-point seatbelts. At just 132 inches long, they take up a fraction of the space of traditional vehicles while delivering many of the comforts drivers expect.

Engineered to exceed federal safety requirements, Wink vehicles use durable lithium iron phosphate batteries and can be charged from a standard household outlet. Some models also feature solar panels that provide supplemental range and help reduce energy consumption.

“It’s not a car. It’s a Wink.”

Mark’s vision for Wink was never to build the next luxury vehicle or compete with major automakers. Instead, he set out to create a practical transportation option for people who travel only a few miles each day and want something that’s easy to park, affordable to operate, and comfortable year-round. “I am a practical guy, and I realized people needed something different”, he explains.

As the company has grown, Wink has attracted customers from urban neighborhoods, retirement communities, beach towns, campuses, and other places where speeds of twenty to thirty miles per hour fit naturally into daily life. Many people discover they don’t need a large vehicle for most of their everyday transportation needs, and according to Mark, that is what is driving interest in a new category of transportation.

Although Wink Motors is still in its early stages, Mark sees significant opportunity ahead. “Not too long ago, nobody was familiar with e-bikes,” he points out. “Now they’re everywhere.” He believes a similar shift will occur as consumers and communities increasingly embrace smaller, more efficient transportation options that better fit everyday routines.

As Wink expands its lineup and explores new models, its mission remains unchanged: providing practical transportation that people can afford, enjoy, and rely on. Today, Mark’s enthusiasm for the company and its vehicles remains as strong as ever. He thoroughly enjoys giving tours, answering questions, and introducing people to a category of vehicle many have never considered before. For him, the most rewarding part of the business is sharing with others something he genuinely believes in.
